Useless ID started out in the mid 90′s and were the first Israeli punk rock band to NOT sound like
The Exploited.
During the first 2 years, Haifa city’s- Useless ID were mainly active in the Israeli punk/hardcore
scene and after releasing their first demo tape they got sick of all the spitting at the local shows and
decided it’s time to bail and move to the States for a while .
It was around 1997 when they packed their shit and went on to play their first ever show abroad in
90210 Gilman street in Berkley CA.
The band ended up staying in the SF Bay Area and played countless shows in basements, living
rooms, back yards, community centers and club shows mostly in the west coast and sometimes with
cool bands like – Lifetime, Good Riddance, H2O, Angry Samoans, TSOL, Teen Idols and many more..
Later on, between long U.S. tours the band recorded their first two albums and released them on
their own label – Falafel Records (named after their favorite food) .
While on tour, after playing a show with The Ataris, they caught the ear of Kris Roe (the Ataris)
and the two bands ended up releasing a split album together on Kung Fu Records (“Let It Burn”).
Following the split album with The Ataris, Useless ID got signed by Kung Fu, who put out their
next 3 albums( between 1999 – 2005 ) In addition to their past releases.
In between releases, Useless ID have put out many 7′s, 10”, splits and comps’, a DVD and also
been featured on the Fat Wreck Chords compilations – “Short Music for Short People” and “Rock
Against Bush # 2” .
After an awesome experience recording their last record for Kung fu – “Redemption” with
producers Bill Stevenson and Jason Livermore @ the Blasting Room Studios in Ft’ Collins CO’,
Useless ID returned to the Blasting Room In 2007 to record their next record -
”The Lost Broken Bones” that came out in 2008 on Suburban Home Records in North America and
on 4 other Labels -worldwide.
In support of all of their records and releases, Useless ID have toured many times all over the
planet :
The U.S, Europe & The U.K, Japan, Australia, Russia and even places like China, Belorussia,
Siberia, Palma de Mallorca and of course – Israel.
Playing club shows and festivals such as -Vans Warped Tour, SXSW, Rock In Idro, Resurrection
fest, and etc’ ,touring with bands like – No Use For A Name, Frenzal Rhomb, NOFX, The Vandals, Nerf Herder, Punchline, Strike
Anywhere, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, This Is A Standoff, Die Toten Hosen, and many
more and then punishing some of these great bands by bringing them over to play shows in Israel
for a bowl of Hummus, Falafel and a burn in the eye at the shitty salty Dead Sea.
In 2011, Useless ID returned to the Blasting Room Studios to record their 7th Album – “Symptoms” (Fat Wreck Chords)
once again (for the 3rd time in a row) with Producers Bill Stevenson ,Jason Livermore and the
Blasting Room crew wrapping up 12 hot new tracks .
